Learning Objectives • Explain the need for developmental surveillance and screening in ECE programs through Vermont’s System for Universal Developmental Screening • Describe how to administer the ASQ-3, a standardized developmental screening tool, and interpret the results • Identify effective communication techniques to discuss a child’s developmental progression with families • Explain the importance of culturally responsive practices and communication with families • Describe a model to support change and improvement in your ECE program • Share best practice recommendations for developmental monitoring, developmental screening, and follow up activities

Learning Objectives • Learn how cohort members are implementing systems for developmental surveillance and screening • Identify key agencies and individuals within Vermont’s System for Developmental Screening, Birth to Age 8 to • Review program level and aggregate level data reports on Family Survey results • Learn about strategies to improve the themes identified from Family Survey results

  7. Learning Objectives • Review data on developmental surveillance and screening, referral and response activities • Identify strategies to support the systematic spread of screening within each site and begin to explore methods to support sustainability of changes over time • Learn key concepts related to providing culturally & linguistically competent care in Early Care and Education settings
