  2. Guiding Question: How can we manipulate sinusoids? • Recall the following A = Amplitude (vertical translation B = Period (how long for one cycle) C = Phase displacement (horizontal shift) D = Vertical displacement (vertical shift)

  3. GQ: How can we manipulate sinusoids? • Sinusoids are concave throughout their graph • Concave down when they open down, concave up when they open up • Inflection points are where the graph changes concavity

  4. GQ: How can we manipulate sinusoids? • Sketch a sinusoid with the following transformations • Amplitude of 7 • Period of • Phase displacement of with respect to cosine • Sinusoidal axis at negative 5 • Sketch the graph and then decipher what the function would look like.
