  2. What is CRW? Campus Recreation and Wellness: Provides and administers educationally oriented leadership development programs and services to enhance positive recreation and wellness life-styles of the University community

CRW Allows Students to Participate in: • Youth & Family Activities (Parents Night Out, Adventurous Pirate Kids, Wall/Tower Days) • Adapted Recreation (Adapted Sports Day, Exercise Partner) • Special Events (Gladiators, Midnight Madness, Polar Bear Plunge, Nutrition Events) • Fitness (Weight Room Closing Assistant, Fitness Trainer) • Intramural Sports (Basketball Shooting Challenge, Softball Hitting Challenge) • Adventure (Flatlander’s Fling Climbing, Kayak Roll Sessions)

  4. Goals of the Volunteer Program • Provide opportunities for students to gain valuable practical experience in various aspects of recreational sports administration that will enhance learning, confidence, leadership abilities, and wellness. • Work collaboratively with the ECU Volunteer Center, campus units and offices, various academic classes, and suitable off-campus agencies. • Identify potential candidates for Campus Recreation & Wellness student employee position vacancies. • Provide personnel assistance for the implementation of various Campus Recreation & Wellness programs and administrative tasks. • Increase awareness and understanding of Campus Recreation & Wellness programs and administrative processes. • Simulate expectations associated with employment positions by assisting students to make commitments, be responsible, and to have accountability.

Opportunities and Benefits of being a CRW Volunteer • Fun and energetic place to do volunteering • Convenient location on campus • Invitation to end of the semester celebrations (food, prizes, etc.) • Referrals for potential student position vacancies • Opportunity for future volunteer work if required by another class • Where It Can Lead – Possible job, exposure to a different field or important contacts

Expectations of Our Volunteers • How Volunteers are Viewed in Our Program • Be Professional • Uniform and Dress (Look GOOD) • We Want People That Want to Be Here and have a Positive Attitude While Volunteering • Do What You Say You Are Going to Do, Honor Commitments Your Work Will Be Rewarding!
