  1. Consecutive Number Problems • If the numbers are consecutive use: • 1st number = x • 2ndnumber = x + 1 • 3rdnumber = x + 2 • etc

  3. Example 2 • The sum of 3 consecutive even numbers add up to 1002. Find the three numbers. 1st 332 2nd 334 3rd 336

  4. Example 3 • The sum of 4 consecutive numbers add up to 4810. Find the four numbers. 1st 1201 2nd 1202 3rd 1203 4th 1204

  5. Consecutive Number Problems • If the numbers are consecutive ODD or EVEN: • 1stnumber = x • 2ndnumber = x + 2 • 3rdnumber = x + 4 • etc

  6. Example 1 • The sum of two consecutive even integers is 62. What are the two integers? 1st 30 2nd 32

  7. Example 2 • The sum of three consecutive odd integers is 51. What are the three integers? 1st 15 2nd 17 3rd 19
