  2. The CPS Update will provide ‘heads up’ information for programmers and data processing staff about the 2015-2016 changes to the Institutional Student Information Record (ISIR) layout and the CPS enhancements.Presenter: Erika Hutko

  5. 2015-2016 CPS Enhancements • NSLDS Data Changes - Subsidized Loan Eligibility Used field (SLEU) will be renamed to Subsidized Usage Period - Confirmed Loan Subsidy Status added - Subsidy Status Date added - New value of R added for Loan Limit Flags - New SAR Comments - New Program code for Direct Perkins Loan - ACG and SMART Grant data deleted - New and redefined Post screening codes • New Foster Care SAR Comments - FOTW Foster Care screening question will be added (seen in FOTW only) - New SAR Comments

  6. Subsidized Loan Eligibility Used (SLEU) Renamed The Subsidized Loan Eligibility Used field will be renamed to Subsidized Usage Period

  7. Confirmed Loan Subsidy Status Confirmed Loan Subsidy StatusValid Values • L = Lost Subsidy • R = Reinstated Subsidy • N = Not applicable for non-D0 loans or No change to subsidy status for D0 loans

  9. New value of R and new SAR Comments • A value of R will be added to the current loan limit flags. R will be defined as ‘Exceeded loan limit and reaffirmed debt’. • A SAR comment will be added for a value of R in the Undergraduate Subsidized or Combined Loan Limit Flags. • A SAR comment will be added for a value of R in the Graduate Subsidized or Combined Loan Limit Flags. • The SAR C flag will be set by the new comments.

  10. New Program Code *A new Program code for Direct Perkins Loan will be added

  11. ACG and SMART Grant ACG and SMART Grant (detailed payment and aid overpayment) data will be deleted.

  12. Post screening New Reason Codes • Post screening Reason Code 26 will be added for a change in Confirmed Loan Subsidy Status. • Post screening Reason Code 27 will be added for decreases in the Subsidized Usage Period.

  13. Post screening Redefined Reason Codes • Post screening reason codes 11 and 12 will be redefined as follows: • 11= Exceeding Subsidized loan limit resolved • 12 = Exceeding Combined loan limit resolved • Post screening reason code 13 will be redefined as “Not in use”

  14. New Foster Care Comments and Screening Question • Two new SAR comments regarding eligibility for Foster Care programs • New FOTW Foster Care screening question added

New Foster Care Comments • A SAR comment will be added for non-FOTW filers who respond Yes to the current Orphan/Foster Care/Ward of the Court dependency question; the comment text will include a URL for additional information. • A SAR comment will be added for FOTW filers who respond Yes to the Foster Care screening question; the comment text will include a URL for additional information.

  17. 2015-2016 CPS Test System • Draft Application Processing Software Developers Specifications slated to be posted mid August • Updates will be provided, as needed

  18. 2015-2016 CPS Test System • Mechanism for you to confirm that your system – • Meets specifications for interfacing with CPS • Is calculating correct results • Allows you to – • Test applications and corrections • Receive ISIR data

  19. 2015-2016 CPS Test System • Available late December and remains available through the end of the processing cycle • User Guide will be posted to Federal Student Aid Download Web site (FSAdownload.ed.gov) around mid October 2014 • An Electronic Announcement will be posted when the test system goes live

  20. 2015-2016 CPS Test System • Test files will be available at FSAdownload.ed.gov • Separate input and output files will be posted for testing specifications • Remember - CPS is still in test until FSA accepts the system and production starts on January 2, 2015
