What writing vocabulary do students bring with them to college writing courses? • What do writing and reading assignments look like? • What kinds of feedback do students get on their writing? • What standards/criteria are used to evaluate writing? • How do these things vary by school, school district, etc.? • What additional supports are available for student writers in high school? • What else???

What HS Writing Instructors (Should) Want to Know about Writing in College • How much do they do? • What types of writing are most prevalent? • How old school are your rules? How rigid? • What are the rules for writing? Conventions? • What level of mastery is expected? • What does student writing look like in college (actual samples)? Share assignments. • Documentation expectations: what systems/formats? • How do you teach documentation/formatting? • How can we teach students about WAC/WID?
