2. PHILOSOPHY OF ARKAYA • ‘Arka’ means the light that heals and inspires. • Arkaya was founded by Yogacharini Maitreyi to allow for the inherent wisdom of the self to shine through.

4. Founder – President , Arkaya Trust. • Yogacharini Maitreyi is a Practical Mystic . She has taught a wide variety of people, from Buddhist monks in Sri Lanka, prisoners in Sweden, an all Islamic group in Bangladesh, yoga teachers in Vancouver to children and CEOs in India and abroad over the last 10 years. • She has trained many top companies like Ford, Lever Brothers, Nasscom, L&T, Symbiosis Institute of Management etc. and consults on wellness issues and organic management. • She holds a permanent card in Canada and lives in Vancouver for most part of the year.

5. Founder – President , Arkaya Trust. • Her aim is to bring this awareness to various groups of people across the world. • She is in the process of setting up conscious communities who contribute to their well being as well as to the well being of others. It is about creating a global family.

6. Paul James, the Partner & Principal Consultant of PSCS a HR Consulting firm is the Managing Trustee. He advises Corporates on Organizational Development, Employee Relations & Conducts Employee Surveys . He oversees the Trust activities. Managing Trustee , Arkaya Trust.

7. Goal of Arkaya Trust. • Arkaya Trust is an endeavor to create awareness about holistic health to everyone especially children. • One project we are presently involved in is to influence the slum children at Ayodhya Kuppam positively. We have volunteers who mentor them as well as encourage them to keep themselves and their environment clean.

8. Objectives of Arkaya Trust. • Providing good role models for the children • Creating fun and games to engage them in activities for internal and external cleanliness • Targeting a group of 50 households to see school dropouts, addiction patterns in the family as well as career options

9. Objectives of Arkaya Trust. • Creating Mentorship base to help with the activities and empowering the children. • Take the kids out for field trips for entertainment as well as inculcating good behavioral patterns, like the recent field trip to MGM • Inculcate English speaking skills. • Introducing psychological counseling to the parents & children if needed.
