RM’s Role with Business • Inform about training market • Build capacity for good partnerships with RTOs • Assist in navigating training system • Steer towards solutions for identified needs • Promote use of self-help tools: • RTO checklist • Rate Your Training • Victorian Skills Gateway • e-Marketplace

How RMs Operate • Most co-located with VGBO network in regions • Business referrals arising from DSDBI engagement • Stress independent position in market • Provide options to businesses – not direct brokering • Maintain privacy of business clients • Facilitate relationships for businesses where appropriate

  6. e-Marketplace • New online service to connect employers and RTOs • SMEs receive a list of RTOs and contact directly • RTOs • Receive warm leads • Use same template, so consistent information • Obligation-free • RTO registers and creates profile based on capabilities (not specific courses) • Pilot in first half of 2014 • Contribute to development www.surveymonkey.com/s/emtbdm

RMs and Bigger Picture • Develop relationships with other training market players – RTOs, GTOs, AACs, LLENs, TTCs, WLCs • Build knowledge of local labour/ training markets • Provide skills intelligence to government • Assist industry links for school-to-work transition • Support regional/LGA strategies on industry growth, workforce development and skills supply • Implement Workers in Transition program • Implement Industry Participation Model
