  5. Read the two passages below and choose the one that you feel best shows the theme, “Never lose hope” Read the page closely. Answer the following questions for each quote: What is the context of the quote? What is happening in the story? Then answer the following question: Which quote best supports the theme “Never lose hope” and why? What is happening that shows “never lose hope?” • “No more hiding, no more pretending, just – being free!” page 84 • “Don’t you ever want to just walk out into the sunshine and say, ‘Forget hiding! I don’t care!’? Am I the only one who feels this way?”

  6. Complete conflict worksheet with a partner. • Think of ways the government is taking away rights. • Evaluate what rights the government has taken away. Write down which you feel is the worst. • With your partner, BOTH persons will write a written response on which infringement of rights is the worst. Start with a topic sentence. • Example: In Among the Hidden, the infringement oof rights that is the worse is… Be prepared to discuss on Monday.
