What are the priority issues and agenda for actions of each TU in Asia and the Pacific region • Stronger enforcement of Labor Laws • Revision of Labor Laws • Reducing of Political/Government Influences on National Centers (TUCs) • Increase Communication between TU Center’s in Asia and The Pacific Region

  3. Agenda for actions • Ad.1. To continue pressure the Government to monitor adherence of labor laws by employers • Ad.2. TUCs to continue to play more active role on issue of ratifications of core labor standards as a minimum labor standard in each countries. • Ad.3. TUCs to conduct meetings at regular intervals and also to establish “new method” (i.e. via e-mails) to contact each others.

  4. What are the computer situation of TUs in Asia and the Pacific in terms of : : • Ad.i. communication between Hq and regional office : phone, fax, email, snail mail. • Ad.ii. communication between regional office and affiliates : phone, fax, email, snail mail • Ad.iii. communication between/among TUs in the region and with ICFTU-APRO: phone, fax, email, snail mail

Step 2 (B) What are the problem, difficulties, needs and/or requirements of TUs in further improving and promoting computer communications ? • Problems : (1) most of the members/affiliates does not have sufficient IT knowledge (2) Limited access to internet facility • Difficulties : (1) language barrier (2) lack of funds to acquire computers and software • Needs and/or requirements : (1) More training on ICT (2) Translate into “national language” (3) TUCs to support purchase of computers for affiliates.
