  2. Asan- Baebang integrated SA/SCDA/DMS • Introduction • Backround data of the Client and project • What is Community Energy Supply (CES) • Project Brief • Scope of the Supply of ABB • System Architecture • Main functions • System Architecture and solution for distribution network communication and automation • Split of the delivery and engineerig tasks between ABB • Key Challenges, Competition, & Cooperation • Summary

  3. CES What is Community Energy Supply (CES)? KEPCO S/S CCPP Distribution Network G • A Energy Supplier builds a P/P & distribution network and supplies electricity & heat to restricted area such as residential area and/or commercial area. • KDHC, KNHC, Gas Suppliers, etc. • Power trade with KEPCO • Generator: 40 – 150MW • No. of Circuit Breaker on Distribution Network: 40 – 200 pcs • Around 36 projects are on-going.

  4. Integrated System Project Brief • End Client: Korea National Housing Corporation (KNHC) • Customer: Kaenam Enterprises Ltd. • Area: 3,674,385 m2 • Population: 27,000 people / 8,700 household • Generation Capacity: 100MW • No. of Feeders and CBs: 12 Feeders / 105 CBs • The first DMS project supplied by a foreign supplier. • (KDN was a mono supplier for DMS in Korea.) • The first integrated system including ECMS (S/A) and DMS.

  5. Integrated System Scope of Work (1) Product List

  6. Integrated System Scope of Work (2) • System Engineering, Configuration, and Site Commissioning • Cubicles for 154KV Bus Protection, Tr. Protection, and SWYD control • Cubicle for LV, Diesel Generator, and DC/UPS • Loose relays supply for 22.9KV and 6.6KV SWGR • Cabling Fiber Optic Communication Cables • Communication Interface with FRTUs made in Korea

  10. Control Centre hardware solutions

  11. Field Ethernet switches and FRTU communcation

  12. Distribution network automation- PAD switches and FRTUs

  13. FRTU supervisory and control dialog in MicroSCADA

  14. Commmunication princible and arrangments for FRTUs

  15. SYS and COM arrangements

  16. Communication arragements to FRTUs by DNP 3.0

  17. Split of the Works between FIABB and KRABB

  18. DMS functionality

  19. DMS modules included to scope

  20. DMS SCADA communication with OPC

  21. DMS SCADA communication

  22. DMS automatic falt location isolation • When fault occurs in network DMS analyses and locates the fault using fault detectors on FRTUs • In the next step DMS creates a sequence to isolate the faulted network and restore power not only to beginning of feeder but uses back-up connections to restore ends of the feeder • SYS 600 executes the sequence automatically monitoring success in each step (user has possibility to stop the sequence)

  23. 61850 communication

  24. TCP/IP adresses allocations

  25. Integrated System Key Challenges, Competition, & Cooperation • Siemens, GE, and LSIS proposed two separate systems, S/A and Korean DMS • KDN, the sole vender for DMS system, proposed DMS. • FISUB and KRABB looked for the solution together and proposed. • One system for S/A and DMS. • Communication Interface with Korean FRTU’s. • Stress technically superior and operationally better solution. • Made the client change the specification • Work split between FISUB and KRABB • Plan to extend distribution feeders – additional 56 CB’s

  26. Integrated System Summary • Customer’s need • Simplified System • Field Proven System based on IEC61850 • Korean FRTU should be applied • Easy Extension • ABB’s response • ABB can supply one system for S/A and DMS • No need to interface between S/A and DMS • Korean Standard FRTU can be interfaced • Extension is proven in KOGAS • Customer’s benefits • All information and operation with one system • Excellent local competence • Reduce the cost • Easy extension – plan to extend 56 CBs
