  3. Knowledge Learning and Communications Purpose To capture and harness the diverse knowledge that is generated from the projects and programmes to contribute to change in governance and to improve programme effectiveness

  6. Harvest Knowledge and learning What are the results telling us? Where do the results fit within the Foundation’s outcome areas? What can we learn about the socio-political conditions and context for participatory governance in your country? Can we collate and compare results/situations/issues in across projects? What is the best way to share learning?

  8. Learning questions What is the relationship between participatory governance and gender? What are the experiences of mainstreaming gender in projects and how best to support partners? What do we mean by localising or domesticating global agreements and how does/can it reach people at the local level? What makes networks and coalitions effective? What makes collective decision-making inclusive? Is it really collective? Does citizen-led accountability lead to better service delivery? Under what conditions and what strategies work and don’t work?

In conclusion Knowledge learning and communications This provides an overview of the Foundation’s monitoring, evaluation, assessment and learning (MEAL) approach We would like our partners to be active participants in the learning process and knowledge co-creators We hope, through KLC’s work that the Foundation can: • be a resource for civil society on participatory governance for sustainable development. • improve understanding of change in governance, gender mainstreaming and developing stronger civic-voices. • strengthen the visibility of the Foundation, its work and the work of its partners
