USSASA's mission is to promote competitive and recreational sports for all schools in South Africa, through mass participation and the striving for excellence, in order to work towards the realization of a democratic and equitable society.

  1. USSASA - MISSION To promote: COMPETITIVE and RECREATIONAL SPORT FOR ALL SCHOOLS in the Republic of South Africa, through MASS PARTICIPATION and the striving for EXCELLENCE IN ACHIEVEMENT in order to work towards the realisation of a DEMOCRATIC and EQUITABLE SOCIETY.

  2. THE NATURE OF OUR BUSINESS(SCHOOL SPORT) • SCHOOL  EDUCATION (DoE) • Social Justice; • Human Rights; • Inclusivity; and • A Healthy Environment. (also DoH) • SPORT  COMPETITION & RECREATION (SRSA) • Sport for All; and • Elite Sport (SASCOC).

  3. SPORT FOR ALL THE GIFT • SPORT AS A VEHICLE FOR DEVELOPMENT; • PROMOTING HEALTH; and • PROMOTING AN ACTIVE LIFESTYLE. THE PRINCIPLES • FAIR PLAY – that all be done in the true spirit of fair play, devoid of cheating, misuse and abuse; • FUN – that the activities provide enjoyment; • VOLUNTEERISM – the promotion of patriotism and free commitment; • PROFESSIONALISM – that all be done in compliance with set standards; • HEALTH – that user groups should lead an active life which keep them healthy; • DEMOCRACY – that the rule of the greater number always prevails; and • UNITY – to create fellowship among participants and community groups. INFUSION • SOCIAL JUSTICE; HUMAN RIGHTS; INCLUSIVITY; and • A HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT

PROVISION OF A PLATFORM FOR GOVERNMENT PRIORITIES CAMPAIGNS HIV & AIDS Prevention; Caring for AIDS orphans; Substance abuse prevention; Prevention of women and child abuse; Promoting the Birth Registration and ID books drive; Promoting the social grants system for qualifying beneficiaries; Supporting the Arrive Alive campaign; and Promoting the Employment Creation drive. (Internships and Learnerships)
