UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION • 17 NATIONAL 3-YEAR PROGRAMMES • BROAD GENERAL EDUCATION • BASIC ELIGIBILITY FOR STUDIES AT POST-SECONDARY LEVEL • SPECIALLY DESIGNED PROGRAMMES • INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMMES • VOCATIONAL TRAINING OFFERS, SPECIALLY DESIGNED AND INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMMES FOR LEARNING DISABLED (4 YEARS)

ADULT EDUCATION • TARGET GROUP 20 + • MUNICIPAL ADULT EDUCATION CORRESPONDING TO BASIC AND UPPER SECONDARY EDUCATION (KOMVUX) • EDUCATION FOR ADULTS CORRESPONDING TO BASIC AND UPPER SECONDARY FOR PEOPLE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES (SÄRVUX) • CONTINUING PROGRAMMES THAT PROVIDE SPECIALIZED SKILLS IN THE EDUCATIONAL FIELD (KY)

  13. ADULT EDUCATION • S F L – THE AGENCY FOR FLEXIBLE LEARNING PROVIDES DISTANCE LEARNING PROGRAMMES FOR ADULTS THAT ARE UNABLE TO STUDY IN THE COMMUNITY WHERE THEY LIVE • S F I – SWEDISH FOR IMMIGRANTS IS DESIGNED TO PROVIDE NEWCOMERS WITH A KNOWLEDGE OF THE SWEDISH LANGUAGE AND SWEDISH SOCIETY

UNIVERSITY AND POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION • AROUND 40 % OF THE STUDENTS THAT HAVE ATTAINED UPPER SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATION CONTINUE ON TO STUDY AT POST-SECONDARY LEVEL • SPECIFIC PROGRAMMES OR INDIVIDUAL COURSES OF STUDIES • UNDERGRADUATE EDUCATION • BACHELOR DEGREE • MASTER DEGREE • MASTER DEGREE WITH SPECIALISATION • LICENTIATE • DOCTORATE (Ph D)

  15. SUPERVISION AND EVALUATION • THE FOLLOW UP AND SUPERVISION OF SWEDISH SCHOOLS IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE NATIONAL AUTHORITY FOR EDUCATION • AN OVERVIEW OF THE SCHOOL SYSTEM IS PRESENTED EVERY THREE YEARS TO PARLIAMENT • THIS FORMS THE BASIS OF A NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN FOR SCHOOLS
