  1. David Albon on Higher Education and Innovation As a young child, David Albon knew he was meant to help others and to be his own boss. At an early age, Albon pushed himself to do well in school and began offering his services by completing odd jobs around the neighborhood in his community. With an entrepreneurial spirit, Albon never second guessed what direction he should pursue his education in when entering University. Now a successful businessman, Albon attributes much of his success to his degree in business which helped shape his raw talent and ambition into more tangible and attainable short term goals and long term visions for his company. In his earlier years, David Albon admits he initially did not see the pressing need for a degree, in general, though. "I knew what I wanted to do with my life. I was not in need of the time to ‘find myself" or my passion. It was there. I also knew I was not seeking immediate employment with a company that required a degree. The decision to attend college was not necessarily the most obvious choice, but it was by far the best and most beneficial choice for me at that time of my life." He goes on to explain that his education helped provide a more solid avenue for his business vision and that his degree gave him a stronger presence in the business world. "The time I spent in college was invaluable. It helped a boy with vision evolve into a man with a purpose. I recommend higher education to every young adult I speak to about business and their careers." Albon adds. Although he was initially uncertain about continuing his education, David Albon always performed exceptionally well in school and excelled in many of his courses. With cultural roots in France, Albon decided to learn French and took to the language with ease in comparison to many of his classmates. "Learning has always been an experience for me. I enjoy it, and I know I am better for it. I could not have accomplished all I have without the time I spent in school. I want the youth of America to know the importance of education. Of making oneself marketable, and finding your true calling." Albon works to help those less fortunate and is particularly interested in promoting education to children who do not believe they will have the opportunity to attend college. Albon donates time and funds to several worthy charities that work with children through educational and developmental programs to make their dreams of a college education come to life. "Education is not only important to each individual, but to the community as a whole. Creating a stronger workforce base and a more educated generation of workers helps to improve the lives of everyone. Education is key and should be attainable for everyone. I want everyone to know they can see their dreams come to fruition. Everyone should have that chance."
