  4. AIS Program • Annual competitive funding round • 18 DEECD grants of $10,000 to employ an artist for approximately 20 days • Applications due 20 September 2013 • Must address the Assessment Criteria • Funding for Foundation to Year 10 Artists in Schools 2014 Information Session

  5. ESR Program • Selected by the DEECD • Arts organisations EOI • Annual brokered round • 6 Australia Council and Arts Victoria partnership • Grants of $35,000 to work collaboratively with an arts organisation for approximately two terms Artists in Schools 2014 Information Session

Program Objectives • The Artists in Schools program aims to: • Support high quality learning across the curriculum • Enrich teaching practice through interaction with professional artists • Promote cultural vibrancy in schools through creative partnerships • Expand opportunities for artists to work with young people Artists in Schools 2014 Information Session

Professional Practicing Artist “A professional practising artist is an artist who has specialist training in their field (not necessarily in academic institutions), is recognised by their peers (professional practitioners working in the art form area), is committed to developing significant time to the artistic activity and has a history of public presentation”. Assessment Criteria • Have a strong and innovative artistic concept • Involve a suitable practicing professional artist – high quality work and strong communication skills • Support learning across the curriculum in line with the AusVELS • Create opportunities for teachers to expand their skills and knowledge • Are well planned and supported by the school

  25. INITIATING A PROJECT DEVELOPING A PROPOSAL SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION PROJECT ASSESSMENT AND FUNDING NOTIFICATION

  26. In 2014we encourage applications which: • Target a group of students from Year 5 or 6 at primary school or Year 7, 8, 9 or 10 at secondary school • Support priorities in the school’s Strategic Plan and/or Annual Implementation Plan

  27. IN 2014 WE ENCOURAGE APPLICATIONS FROM • North Eastern Victorian Region • (former EMR and Hume) • North Western Victorian Region • (former NMR) • South Western Victorian Region • (former Grampians)

Submission for AIS 2014 • Applications must be emailed by 5pm, Friday 20 September on the closing date to ais.grants@dpc.vic.gov.au. • Please include your school’s name in the subject line. • Make sure you attach the following documents: • Your application (this document, which includes Sections 1, 3 and 4) • Your project description (see Section 2) • Support material, including the artist’s Curriculum Vitae (see Section 5) • Your signed Declaration (see Section 6)

VicArts Grants • The new VicArts grants program combines the former Arts Development, Contemporary and Live Music Development, Community Partnerships and International programs into one program. • The program will support projects that: • Create new works of contemporary art; • Present original works that engage Victorian audiences and/or reach new audiences nationally and internationally; • Build the sustainability and financial viability of an artist’s professional practice, particularly in the early stages of their career; • Encourage new partnerships or collaborations with Victorian industries, organisations and communities. • Applications are encouraged from across all art forms.
