This document outlines the objective to build an 8”x8” frugal tile MCP detector, detailing the necessary internal components including two 8”x8” MCPs and grid spacers. Testing conducted at UCB confirmed stable resistance for both MCP1 and MCP2. The planned process includes vacuum baking of internal parts and assembly in a clean room at the ALD lab, followed by testing at APS. Special thanks to Dean and his team for their support in NiCr electrode deposition. We hope for success with the LAPD group's endeavors.

Objective Build a 8”x8” frugal tile MCPs based detector Internal parts needed for a 8”x8” tile Main internal parts: a) Two 8”x8” MCPs b) Two 2mm grid spacers c) One 4.45mm grid spacer
What we have for 8”x8” tile? • Both MCP1 (8M) and MCP2 (10M) tested @ UCB and shows stable resistance
Photograph of Grid spacers: Note: Many thanks to Dean and his team for NiCr electrode deposition GS 4.45mm GS 2mm
Grid spacers I-V data: • If needed we will make another set of grid spaces
Plan for demountable: • Baking of all the demountable internal parts in vacuum @ 150C. • Baking of top plate in new oven @ 100C. • Assemble in clean room @ ALD lab (ready). • Testing demountable at APS. Good luck to LAPD group!!
