  2. The Sun Did you know? The sun comprises 99.85% of all the matter in the solar system.

  3. Mercury Did you know? Mercury was named after the fast moving messenger of the gods.

  4. Venus Did you know? Ancient astronomers called Venus the Evening Star.

  6. Mars Did you know? Mars is known as the red planet.

  7. Jupiter Did you know? Jupiter is the largest planet and has 28 moons.

  8. Saturn Did you know? Saturn, the sixth planet, is famous for its rings.

  9. Uranus Did you know? Uranus is blue green in color and tipped on its side.

  10. Neptune Did you know? Neptune is known as a “gas giant” because it is composed of gases such as methane, hydrogen, and helium.

  11. Pluto And Charon Did you know? Pluto was not discovered until 1930.
