when the substances resulting from the treatment are incinerated

CO-INCINERATION PLANTS

Waste is thermally treated for the purpose of disposal

Vegetable waste (agriculture, forestry, food processing industry)

Fibrous vegetable waste, wood waste, cork waste

Radioactive waste, Animal carcasses

Waste from exploration and exploitation of oil and gas resources

Experimental plants < 50 tonnes of waste per year

CONTROL AND MONITORING

Measurement equipment shall be installed and

techniques used in order to monitor the

parameters, conditions and mass concentrations

OPERATING CONDITIONS

Designed, equipped, built and operate to prevent emissions

850 ºC for two seconds

1 100 ºC for two seconds and destroy PCDD/Fs

hazardous waste > 1% halogenated organic substances

•Hazardous waste with net calorific value of at least 30 MJ/kg

is excluded from requirements to hazardous waste

ANY HEAT GENERATED SHALL BE RECOVERED AS FAR AS PRACTICABLE
