  1. A Simple Guide For Waste Water Treatment Process

  2. Waste Water The water that gets disposed of from the houses, industries, factories, etc. is known as waste water. The waste water contains polluted substances that are impure in nature. Waste Treatment The process by means of which the biological or chemical wastes are eradicated from the water is called waste treatment. Waste water Treatment The waste water treatment plants are set up to ensure that all the impurities that are present in the water duly get treated and removed from the water in order to make it usable.

  3. Waste Water Treatment Plant

  4. Waste Water Treatment Methods The waste water treatment plants treat the waste water under the following steps: • a) Physical Method of Water Treatment • b) Biological Method of Water Treatment • c) Chemical Method of Water Treatment

  5. Flocculation or coagulation

  6. Physical Method of Water Treatment The process of Physical Treatment includes: • a) Oxidation • b) Flocculation • c) Flotation

  7. Biological Method of Water Treatment This process includes the following steps: a) Activated Sludge b) Biological Nutrient Removal c) Attached Growth Systems d) Anaerobic Systems e) Anaerobic Sludge Blanket Systems

  8. Chemical Method of Water Treatment When the waste water gets treated with some chemical reactions, it is known as the Chemical process of water treatment. It undergoes the following steps: • a) Chemical Precipitation • b) Chemical Coagulation • c) Chemical Oxidation

  9. Stage In Wastewater Treatment Process

  10. Preliminary Treatment • Screens are used in order to eradicate the inorganic substances that are larger in size. • After the removal of inorganic materials, substances such as silt and grit are removed. The main purpose of this preliminary treatment is to remove the solid materials from the surface of the water that contains contaminants. The screening is done to prevent the plants from getting damaged.

  11. Secondary Treatment The procedure through which microorganisms are cultivated in the treatment process in order to break down the organic material into CO2 , H2O and some other inorganic compounds is known as Activated Sludge Process.

  12. Tertiary Treatment After secondary treatment, tertiary treatment is another most important water treatment process as it removes all the left over contaminants that do not get removed during the secondary treatment. The water becomes absolutely crystal clear and free of all impurities after going through the tertiary treatment process.

  13. Uses of the Treated Waste Water: • a)Irrigation purposes • b) Feeding animals • c)Sludge recycling • d)Land spreading

  14. Advantages of Waste water Treatment • 1.Water gets recycled • 2.The water that gets treated can be used for vegetation • 3.The demand for fresh water can be reduced

  15. Disadvantages of Waste Water Treatment • 1.Huge amount of money is required for setting up a waste water treatment plant • 2.In order to treat he waste water, many chemicals are also produced that are harmful in nature. • 3.A lot of space is needed to accommodate a water treatment plant.

  16. Summary: Thus this is how the waste water gets treated in the waste water treatment plant. References Content References from Google.com Content References from yahoo.com Content References from Facebook.com
