  1. Distribution System Analytical Data (DSAD) WG Roger C. Dugan Electrotek Concepts Knoxville, TN July 1998 R. C. Dugan, DSAD Working Group, July 98

  2. Scope • Develop a data dictionary for Distribution System Analytical Data • Based on form already established by PSAD Working Group • Envisioned as continuing effort spanning many years • Due to huge volume • New product introductions R. C. Dugan, DSAD Working Group, July 98

  3. Scope, cont’d • Establish dictionary first for those quantities most commonly used in power flows, voltage drops, and other similar calculations. (est. 2 yrs) • Tackle control quantities, dist. Planning quantities, etc. (est. ad infinitum) R. C. Dugan, DSAD Working Group, July 98

  4. PSAD vs DSAD Data • PSAD is more concerned with control center and G&T planning data • DSAD will add definitions for data used for distribution systems analysis • May have to duplicate some quantities • DSAD volume is expected to be higher due to greater variety of equipment R. C. Dugan, DSAD Working Group, July 98

  5. PSAD - DSAD Conflicts • PSAD in MW, MVA; DSAD will be kW, kVA. • The PSAD makes very extensive use of per unit values while distribution data uses it less • Some Z’s are described in per unit on System MVA base, which is sometimes not used in Dist. Analysis • Lines • Capacitors • Some machine data • (Transformers are done compatibly with DSAD concepts.) R. C. Dugan, DSAD Working Group, July 98

  6. Regulator Bank Object Adapted from Cooper Power Systems V-BASE Program R. C. Dugan, DSAD Working Group, July 98

  7. CL4C Regulator Control Adapted from Cooper Power Systems V-BASE Program
