  16. Unit 4 • 6/44 • Switzerland enjoys both economic and environmental stability. The economy is one of the most stable in the world and the environment one of the most envied. Industry and finance are vital to Swiss livelihood. The industrial sector includes textiles, chemicals, and machinery. Banking is the most important financial service but it has been increasingly dependent on foreign investment. Despite this growing dependency Switzerland is still one of the most secure places to invest money. However, certain environmental problems related to global warming, in particular, shorter, warmer winters, have adversely affected the skiing business.
