  3. This term refers to colors found opposite on the color wheel and have the greatest degree of contrast (ie. Blue/orange, violet/yellow, & red/green)

  4. What is complementary?

  5. Colors that appear to advance in space and make you feel happy (Red, Yellow, & Orange)

  6. What are Warm colors?

  7. Color has 3 properties.

  8. What is a hue, intensity and value?

  9. The lightness or darkness of a color.

  10. What is Value?

  11. 3-5 adjacent colors on the color wheel.

  12. What are analagous colors?

  13. Comic books and political cartoons do a great job of showing this purpose.

  14. What is Narrative Art?

  15. Utilitarian art, these art pieces can be used to do something besides just being looked at. They include objects such as dishes and clothes; often these objects are highly decorated and show expert craftsmanship.

  16. What is Functional Art?

  19. Any piece of art that is used in a religious or cultural event may be considered this.

  20. What is Ceremonial?

  21. This type of art work attempts to influence the viewer into doing something or feeling a certain way. “EAT MORE CHIKIN”

  23. This is the first stage of the Design Cycle, you would definitely find a problem here.

  24. What is Investigate?

  25. You would need to follow a good plan to get this 3rd stage of the Design Cycle going.

  26. What is Create?

  27. When trying to come up with a good solution to your problem you are formulating a good one of these in the 2nd stage of the Design Cycle.

  28. What is Plan?

  29. Once you have created a solution to your problem by following your plan, the final step of the Design cycle is to do this.

  30. What is Evaluate?

  31. Between these two stages is the only place in the Design Cycle where you can skip across.

  32. What is between the Plan and Evaluate stages?

  33. There are two categories of shapes, this one deals with rules from math.

  34. What are Geometric?

  35. The use of white to lighten a color.

  37. The idea of doing your best and removing errors from your work deal with what area?**polishing your work**

  39. When trying to shade something darker you can use this method of making a bunch of parallel lines next to each other and then cross them(they are darker as they get closer together) .

  40. What is cross hatching?

  41. To create an intermediate color we must do this.

  42. What is mix a primary and secondary color together?

  43. Name the Elements of art.

  44. What are Line, Shape, Color, Form, Texture, Space and Value?

  45. Shapes like squares and circles are 2-D and Forms like cubes and spheres are 3-D. This makes them different from each other.

  46. What is Depth?

  47. The acronym that helps us remember the Purposes of Art.

  48. What is F.A.N.C.P.?

  49. Landscapes have these 3 areas!

  50. What is foreground, middle ground and background?
