Daily Announcements. March 26, 2013. HOSA Scholarship. HOSA Scholarship Applications are now available from one of the HOSA Advisors or outside of room #312.  You must be a senior in HOSA to apply for a scholarship.  Deadline to return applications is April 17th.

  1. Daily Announcements March 26, 2013

  2. HOSA Scholarship HOSA Scholarship Applications are now available from one of the HOSA Advisors or outside of room #312.  You must be a senior in HOSA to apply for a scholarship.  Deadline to return applications is April 17th.

  3. Attention JV & Varsity Basketball Players! The basketball banquet for JV and Varsity Girls and Boys is Monday April 8th at 6:00 at The Flight Deck. See your coach if you have any questions.

  4. Golf Update The GHS Varsity and JV teams both won 3-way matches at Ponderosa Country Club Monday. The varsity team shot a 175 to Mid-Carolina’s 180 and Batesburg-Leesville’s 203.  Caleb Proveaux shot a 38 to lead the Indians.  The Varsity improves its record to 4 and 3. The JV team shot 193 to win over both opponents, with Dylan Robbins and Rob Curry both shooting 46 to lead the team. The JV record is now 4-1-1.

  5. Miss GHS Pageant 2013 The Miss GHS Pageant was held Saturday night and was an awesome show of "Sparkle" by our 23 beautiful contestants.  We also had some great entertainment - we surely have some talented students here at GHS!!  The winners for the evening were: Miss Congeniality:  Marissa Smiley;  People's Choice Award:  Amber Tokar; Miss Freshman:  Hannah Jernigan;  Runner-Up Miss Sophomore:  Haley Burchette;  Miss Sophomore:  Ayanna Wigfall;  Runner-Up Miss Junior:  Marissa Smiley;  Miss Junior:  Victoria Wills;  Runner-Up Miss Senior:  Taylor Kitchens;  Miss Senior:  Alex Arsi  and...  Miss GHS 2013:  Katarina Ellisor! Please congratulate all the girls for a job well done!

  8. Sports Physicals Sports physicals will be offered at The Moore Clinic on April 13th.  Gilbert’s time slot is 8:30 am.  If you would like to have a physical done at Moore please stop by and pick up a physical packet from Coach Millwood.  You must also register with Coach Millwood in order to participate.  Cost for Moore physicals at $10 each. For those who wish to have a physical done at GHS or GMS those physicals will be offered in May and the cost will be $20.  Physical packets for  the school physicals will be given out after spring break.

Volleyball Tournament2013 TODAY is the Deadline to form and pay for volleyball teams.  Please see Coach Halloran in the gym with your team name and money $30.  Sales for tickets start today!  See any of the PE teachers (Coach Halloran, Coach Kennerly, or Coach Gooding) to get your $5.00 ticket to attend 4th block on Thursday!

  11. Attention Seniors Do YOU have perfect attendance for your 12 years of high school? Well, then you may be eligible for a Perfect Attendance Award! Each year, the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) honors graduating seniors who have 12 years of perfect attendance with a special certificate and personal letter signed by the State Superintendent of Education. If you think you are eligible, then see Mrs. Smith in attendance to apply for this recognition.

  12. Thank you … …to everyone who voted with their donations for the People’s Choice Award at the Miss GHS Pageant. The Student Council is proud to announce that $365.85 was raised Saturday night at the Miss GHS Pageant for The Skin Cancer Foundation to go towards skin cancer research. 

  13. Attention AFJROTC Students… All students who were in AFJROTC first semester, please contact Cadet Captain Nikki Bittinger about purchasing your Awards Banquet/Military Ball tickets and about further details. If you fundraised, tickets are $15, if you did not fundraise, tickets are $30 . The Awards Banquet/Military Ball is on May 4, 2013 at the Marriott Hotel in Downtown Columbia.

  14. Attention Students! Yearbooks are on sale NOW!! If you have not bought one yet, time may be running out!!! A yearbook staff member may be contacting you to encourage you to buy one soon! See Mrs. Bentley in Room 232 for details.
