  2. Extra Credit Assignment (1) ASSIGNMENT: • Draft a 1-2-page essay on the subtext of one of the following:  • a television program (show or news) • film (perhaps too long for this project) • commercial • advertisement (most students do this) • or music video

  3. Extra Credit Assignment (1) ASSIGNMENT: • This activity is based on the exercise in your textbook. • Consult Chapter 3, particularly the section entitled “The Psychology of Argument,” which begins on page 178.

Extra Credit Assignment (4) DESCRIPTION: • Since you cannot bring copies of your advertisements to show to the class, • you must describe your subjects in detail • vivid description • detailed summary and explanation • In the Introduction • Or in the second paragraph • NO more than a single paragraph • since the focus of your paper is the SUBTEXT
