Interoperability of library metadata within a single service

The Europeana Libraries project focuses on enhancing the searchability of library data by aligning it with the Europeana Data Model (EDM). Through meticulous work with UNIMARC data and understanding the EDM, the project aims to improve data quality, maintain interoperability with Europeana, and enhance the discoverability of library content.

Main outcomes • Reached consensus on the alignment of library data with EDM. • Feedback has helped Europeana in their implementation of EDM • Implementation of the EDM conversion with the main European Library service • Will allow us to gradually improve the quality of the data • Provision of content described using the Europeana model • Will maintain interoperability with Europeana • Will improve the searchability of library content in Europeana
