Getting the Teacher’s Attention. When I am in class, sometimes I need the teacher’s attention. First I look at the teacher and make eye contact. I raise my hand, stay calm and quiet, and wait for the teacher to call on me. When the teacher calls my name, that means it is my turn to speak.

  2. When I am in class, sometimes I need the teacher’s attention.

  3. First I look at the teacher and make eye contact.

  4. I raise my hand, stay calm and quiet, and wait for the teacher to call on me.

  5. When the teacher calls my name, that means it is my turn to speak.

  6. I will try to wait patiently until my teacher calls on me to ask my question.

  7. Other children may have a question and my teacher may call another name.

  8. I get my turn to ask a question, then listen carefully to my teacher’s answer.

  9. When I get the teacher’s attention appropriately, she can help me quickly.
