  3. Student Portals without Content Management System • Limitations: • Difficult to update • One dimensional…could not easily add media, layer pages • Could not track usage statistics • Users could not rate resources • Not aesthetically pleasing Before LibGuides

  4. 2009: Web Services Librarian created a skeleton guide for each academic discipline • Summer 2010: Migrated content of old student portals into LibGuides system • Added additional content to student portals •  Created system-specific LibGuides Timeline

Before system: • Contact system co-chairs to ask for their input on the guides • Ask to present LibGuide to students on first day of system • Present appropriate system LibGuide at years 1 and 2 monthly ICM faculty meeting • Start of system: • Contact all system lecturers to make them aware of LibGuide and to ask for their input on the guides • Present LibGuide to students Outreach & Instruction for KSOM
