(one class-set of 32 tablets ) • New National Curriculum (Sep 2014) – • increased emphasis on research, for example into the impact of individuals in their field: art, science etc. • new subject of Computing to add to previous ICT expectations • emphasis within drama and PE on evaluating own performance • Children tell us … • they enjoy learning when they can ask questions and can pursue their interests – more self-directed learning • Children learn best when … • they are engaged with their learning • learning is personalised – the use of different apps makes this possible • they can collaborate meaningfully • they create as well as consume • Classroom-based technology provides instant access to information to enhance learning. It does not replace the teacher, but adds to the repertoire of teaching resources that a teacher can call upon to use. It can help to bring learning to life in the classroom. • Links with home … we already use Mathletics in school at home; we could make much better use of Fronter and other online resources.
