Vesak day May 25thDays Events 7:30 am Venerable Wayne opens Vesak Day with the Heart Sutra, a short talk about the importance of the Three Refuges, and finally a Taking Refuge Ceremony 9:00 am Delani discusses Buddha’s birthday in the Korean Chogye tradition. 9:30 am Shakti (Delani’s rl sister and Dharma teacher) will read a peace prayer she created. 10:30 –Venerable Tsewang discusses the day as related to the Tibetan tradition 12:30 Pm Zino presents a movie on the life of Buddha 2:00 PM – Offerings to the Buddha by Luna Datura and Mey Denimore 3-5 Douglas Tragonach discusses Buddha’s birthday in the Japanese tradition. 5 pm Fireworks, dancing and gifts
