  2. «What: Africa’s bitter cycle of child slavery When: July 12 2009 Where: it happen in Africa (west and central Africa) Who: Robyn Dixon Why: It happen because parents are poor and they sell their children to their uncle that lied if he want to help them with their education. How: Agwu and John parents send them away and told them it was for his study with his aunt. They both are being forced to work 15 hours a day. They were trapped in a dungeon with no way out. They were being sold over and over again. They were sent to fish in lake Volta by being asked to jump out of the boat with a rope tied in his waist and they was used as a bait. They were beaten up every night. Agwu escaped but John didn’t and he was nowhere to be seen.

This Article Is Against: Article 19 Governments should ensure that children are properly card for, and protect them from violence, abuse and neglect by their parents, or anyone else who looks after them. Article 20 Children who cannot be looked after by their own family must be looked after properly, by people who respect their religion, culture and languages. Article 21 When children are adopted the first concern must be what is best for them. The same rules should apply whether the children are adopted in the country where they were born, or if they are taken to live in another country.

Article 10 Families who live in different countries should be allowed to move between those countries so that parents and children can stay in contact, or het back together as a family

Article 35 The government should make sure that children are not abducted or sold. Article 11 Governments should take steps to stop children being taken out of their own country illegally.

Ideal Application(solution): • Ask the government of Indonesia to make an organization to search for children that are used as slave in another country. • Make a poster to prevent child labor happening in Indonesia. • Tell adults if you think people are having child abuse/kidnapping. • Encourage a journalist to publish a story about child slavery. • Government should make sure that child slavery doesn’t happen online. • Send a letter or ppt to the president to tell them newest news about slavery. • Children should be taken care by their other family if their parents can’t afford it but they have to respect their religion culture and beliefs

Educate others and donate so the money could be use to pay for the school fee for those who can’t afford it • Government should provide transportation for the parents that life in different country with their children so they could meet each other regularly so they still can stay in touch. • government should put security to guard the entrance and see if a person is taking a child out of their country illegally • government should tell the schools to give children free education • rich country like Australia should help poorer countries like Africa • Children should be able to achieve the highest level they could reach. • Discipline schools still have to respect children dignity. • government should help people that cant afford health care, food and clean water • Government also should have a neighborhood for people that don’t life in a clean environment.
