  5. Physical Description Superior Air Ducts®is a class A type 1 semi-flex air duct that is tested for compliance to standard for safety underwriters laboratory #181. SF082 is manufactured with reinforced reflective metallized jacket. The SF082 inner core is air tight and is designed for low to medium operating pressures in HVAC systems. The inner core is constructed with a steel wire helix encapsulated in (2) ply clear mylar.

  6. Physical Description Cont’ The cotton insulation is a 2.2 lb per cubic foot density with a thermal resistance value of R8+. The insulation surrounds the inner core which consists of a heavy gauge wire and spaced every 3/8” to 1” depending on a size of the duct, for extra durability. The metallized mylar jacket is reinforced with a heavy cross hatched scrim.

Features & Benefits Superior Air Duct® (Semi-flex) is made with 100% cotton insulation: • The cotton insulation is a 2.2 lb per cubic foot density with a thermal resistance value of R8+. • The cotton insulation is environmentally friendly • Cotton insulation is non itch – non toxic material • Does not require protective clothing

Features & Benefits Stops condensation; mold & bacteria resistant; vermin resistant: • The natural fiber is treated with an EPA registered, non-toxic, borate solution and than “flash-dried” in the manufacturing process to offer mold/mildew protection. Borates are a very effective natural biostat that actively inhibit mold, mildew, bacteria, and fungi growth.

  10. Features & Benefits Flame resistant/fire retardant: • Borates also act as an excellent fire retardant. This is the first A/C duct that will not support flame and will not melt down in case of a fire.

  11. Features & Benefits Less than 1 degree temperature differential over 50 feet: • Leaky air conditioning ducts can become one of the biggest energy wasters. An alternative residential A/C duct on average leaks as much as 30%. Superior Air Ducts® are guaranteed not to leak due to the sturdy design and quality components that make our duct a high efficiency air conditioning duct. It looses less than 1 degree over 50 feet resulting lower energy cost – A/C runs less frequent.

  12. Applications • Semi-flex Superior Air Ducts® are easily installed in any residential or commercial building type. Any area that carries alternative flex-ducts or hard pipes is suitable for Semi-flex Superior Air Ducts®. • Installation: Air Duct connections and joints shall be made per installation instructions outlined by Superior Air Ducts®, and as required by the UL 181 listing procedure (INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS ARE INCLUDED INSIDE EACH BAG).
