The famous art directors of Hollywood like Cedric Gibbons prefered ART-DECO style in their movies for the housing architecture instead of MODERN style. • The 30’ s classical american movies show us that “a husband returns form the office to a happy, traditional home life with wife, children and sometimes, domestic settings” • On the contrary “urban appartments were reserved for youthful singles, the unusually wealth, easy women, and terminal bachelors”. The penthouse dwellers lived in the present and looked toward the future with little concern for the past.
