    5. Cadet Honor code I will love and revere my God and my country. I will be loyal to my school, obey it’s leaders, and help enforce it’s rules and regulations. I will take pride in JROTC through my appearance and my actions. I will not lie, cheat, or steal, nor tolerate those who do. I am an Air Force JROTC cadet, a citizen of character, dedicated to serving my nation and my community.

    6. The American’s Creed • I believe in the United States of America, as a government of the people, b y the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic, a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice,, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. • I, therefore, believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support it’s constitution, to obey it’s laws, to respect it’s flag and to defend it against all enemies

    7. DISCIPLINE That mental attitude and state of training that renders innate obedience under all circumstances.

    8. DRILL A necessary skill in the Military profession That when done well, Has a unifying effect that promotes DISCIPLINE, TEAMWORK AND ESPRIT D’ CORPS.

    12. CAR WASH • 18 April – 0800 – 1600 – our parking lot • Service Hours awarded • Each cadet responsible to sell 9 tickets • Money is due at the car wash • Cancelled if rain • FOY point given for Parents who come help • All money goes to Relay for Life

    13. Relay for Life • 24 April • 9th grade Track • Must contribute $20.00 to participate • All money is due every day! • Luminarias $5.00 • Suns, Moons - $1.00 • Corps Goal is $2500.00

    14. GET ALARMED – JROTC CARES • JROTC Cares about our family and friends • Do they have adequate protection from house fires? • Encourage them to sign up for free smoke alarms. • You could help save a life.

    15. LAST PROMOTION CYCLE • Drill Testing – Week of 14 April • Board – Week of 20 April • 20 points awarded for FOY for each cadet that gets promoted

    16. CADET OF THE QUARTER • BOARD • WEDNESDAY – MAY 6 • THURSDAY – MAY 7 • 1500 • SERVICE UNIFORM • YOU MUST MEET THIS BOARD TO BE CONSIDERED FOR CADET OF THE YEAR • 20 FOY POINTS FOR EACH CADET • 25 FOY BONUS POINTS TO WINNER

    17. ANNUAL AWARDS CEREMONY • 22 May – 6 p.m. • 9th grade Center Cafeteria • Uniform – Service Dress • Awards presented in 3 categories • National • JROTC Annual • Local Cadet

ANNUAL AWARDS • APPLICATIONS ARE DUE • MONDAY – APRIL 20 • YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR AN AWARD IF YOU DON’T APPLY!!!! • Earning awards is positive information for applications for scholarships, college, jobs, and membership in social organizations. • Start building your portfolio NOW. You will be glad you did!

    19. Cell Phone for Soldiers • Goal: 500 hours of phone time • 500 cell phones • Deadline: End of school year • 250 cell phones • Each phone turned in worth 5 service points • 30 points = service ribbon

    20. Drill • A Major factor in the development of : • Confidence • Poise • Discipline • Neatness • Precision

    21. Service Ribbons To receive service ribbons, you must participate with the unit in activities, such as parades. These earn you service points. When you accumulate 30 service points, you will receive your service ribbon. Good luck!

    24. Uniform Tip - Jacket • Grade Insignia is centered left to right, parallel to the ground and 1” above inner edge of the collar • Zipper is zipped at least half-way

    30. Uniform Tip– Shoe Shine • Shoes must be shined to a high gloss • Heals and soles must be black • Shoes must be clean at all times
