Understanding the Logo Approval Process for Marine Corps Aviation and Non-Aviation Insignia

This guide outlines the logo approval process for both aviation and non-aviation units in the Marine Corps. It explains the specific steps units must take to submit insignia designs to the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) and the Director of Marine Corps History (HDR). The document details the requirements, including the submission of clear drawings, symbolism descriptions, and the necessity of local commanding general approval. Units outside OPNAVINST 5030.4F guidelines are exempt from CNO approval. For more information, reach out to Ms. Annette Amerman at HQMC.
