  3. Modem Watch Dogとは • 衛星モデムのステータスをリモートから取得する • 変化するモデムのステータス情報を蓄積し､確認する手段を提供する →モデムのあるシェルタまで行くことなく､モデムのステータスを見ることができる。

  4. 目的 • 衛星回線を用いたインターネットのオペレーションをするのに必要なものは? 　→Layer2監視の重要性 　→TCP/IPスタックを持たない機器のインターネットを介した制御法の提供

  5. MWDの構成（１） • MWDを構成する4つのパート 　－モデムコントローラ 　－WatchDogデーモン 　－データベース 　－ユーザーインターフェース

  6. MWDの構成（２） • MWDの作成に使用したアプリケーション 　－SNMP →MIBに衛星モデムの情報を保持する 　－Database →衛星モデムのステータス情報を継続的　　に蓄える －HTTP、PHP3、Browser →ユーザーインターフェースを提供する

  7. SNMPとMIB • Simple Network Management Protocol 　→ネットワークデバイス間の制御情報のやり取りを可能にするプロトコル • Management Information Base →様々なデバイスの情報が定義され、蓄積されるデータベース

  11. 実装の環境 • 衛星ルータ 　－SDM300A衛星モデム 　－FreeBSD3.5.1-Release • mwd.sfc.wide.ad.jp 　－FreeBSD4.0-Release • 取得できる衛星モデムのステータス情報 　－TxFreq、RxFreq 　－Eb/N0、RSL 　－SYNC

  12. Work in Progress • SFCにある全ての衛星ルータにMWDをインストールする • 取得できるステータス情報の種類を増やす • ユーザーインターフェースの改善 • 停波機能をつける • セキュリティーの強化 • MWDのURL http://mwd.sfc.wide.ad.jp/~okada/MWD.php3

  13. Future Works • ステータス異常の報告 　－衛星モデムに問題が発生した際､それを報告できるようにする 　－mailなど • 衛星モデム用のMIBを構築する
