  8. Teaching Experience • I taught special needs students for 5 years in Ohio. • I have taught 6th grade and 8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies in North Carolina for the last 6 years. • I am currently trying to get a position to teach High School Social Studies.

  9. About Me • I am 34 years old. • I am happily married with a son, and a baby on the way.

  10. My Interests • I coach for a high school football team. I enjoy playing and watching football as well. I played football when I was younger and going to school. • I am a huge sports fan, but my favorite sports are football and bowling.

  11. About the Course • In American History I, I will be teaching you the main themes and ideas of America’s history from the European Exploration to the U.S. Civil War. • The course curriculum is based on North Carolina’s Essential Standards for this course.

  12. Expectations • There will be mini-assessments after each lesson, as well as larger Unit Tests at the end of each unit. • Through the completion of each lesson and the assessments, you will have demonstrated a mastery American History through the Reconstruction period.

  13. Expectations • All of your written assessments will need to be maintained in a journal. • There may also be graphic organizers or other types of worksheets that you will need to use for other assessments.
