Karachi metropolitan corporation Karachi mass transit cell REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST Bus Rapid Transit System for “YELLOW LINE” The Assignment Karachi Mass Transit Cell (KMTC), Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) invites proposals from reputable and experienced firms/consortia to prepare a Feasibility Report covering technical, financial, economic, legal and environmental aspects along-with Transaction Advisory Services for the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) – “Yellow Line” under Public Private Partnership Mode. BRTS “Yellow Line” is a 22 Km route from DawoodChowrangi to NumaishChowrangi & Lucky Star via 8000 Road, Korangi Road and FTC. The feasibility and transaction structure of BRTS would enable KMTC, KMC to make an informed decision which shall ensure an affordable, sustainable and replicable system. In this regard, KMTC, KMC wants to prequalify potential firms/consortia for issuing Request For Proposal (RFP) document. Interested firms/consortia would need to furnish relevant documents to demonstrate experience and expertise to undertake the above project. Submission of Pre-Qualification Documents The Request for Qualification (RFQ) document for pre-qualification may be downloaded from www.karachicity.gov.pk , www.pppunitsindh.gov.pk and www.pprasindh.gov.pk Duly filled in Pre-Qualification documents must reach KMTC,KMC office not later than 12:00pm on Thursday, August 30, 2012. Request for Proposal (RFP) would only be issued to the pre-qualified firms/consortia. Contact Engr. Feasibility Study would cover technical, financial, economic, legal and environmental aspects; c) Assist KMTC, KMC in marketing the project to the interested mix of investors, and administering the bidding process for implementation of the project till achieving Financial Closure. Brief Scope of Work The detailed scope of work for the transaction advisor to implement the project would be provided at the RFP stage. However, briefly, the Transaction Advisor/ Consulting Firm(s) shall be expected to perform following tasks: a) Conduct a topographical survey of the proposed BRT line and develop a Preliminary Engineering design for the project.
