    1. Bell Ringer 04/12/2011 Follow the directions on your Bell Ringer sheet. Weekly Vocabulary: Abiotic Biotic Ecosystem

    2. Today… Essential Question: What are the parts that make up an ecosystem? Objective: After viewing a PPT about abiotic and biotic factors, students will be able to identify examples of each by creating a collage with at least 80% accuracy.

    5. The living parts of a habitat are called biotic factors. Biotic factors in the priarie dog’s habitat include the grass and plants that provide seeds and berries. The hawks, ferrets, badgers, and eagles that hunt them are as well. In addition, worms, fungi, and bacteria that live in the soil beneath them. The living parts of a habitat are called biotic factors. 14. Time to Practice You are a scientist who is studying various ecosystems. As part of your research, you need to identify as many BIOTIC and ABIOTIC factors as possible. Using the magazines provided, glue, scissors, and construction paper, make a collage of at least 5 abiotic and 5 biotic factors.
