ICANN Funding • Idea: • CENTR agrees to a certain amount of funding, divides amongst its members. • Gave my personal guarantee • to trust CENTR. • The CENTR General Manager and Staff • helped you and us very much to reach the goal. • Called many CENTR members • I had a very nice time with many of you, some times with your mother or whole family, when I used a wrong telephone number. • Many thanks • To Marianne, the CENTR Staff, Board and all of you. • We still need a solution to reach the projected amount.

Meeting with Staff of ccTLD Organizations • Establish a direct communication: • ccTLD orgs and IANA / ICANN staff. • Staff of the ccTLD organizations. • Look inside IANA and ICANN. • To start a network of friends for IANA • to help with inside view in regional situations. • Provide a better service • to the members of this Groups and all ccTLDs. • Example .pt and .ir

  5. Continuing • Montevideo Meeting with Staff from • APTLD, CENTR, LACTLD and ccTLD constituency. • Next will be in Marina del Rey (ICANN Offices) approx. November 10th • Outcome • Mailing list • Meeting in MdR • Next Meetings of the ccTLD orgs.

  6. Internal Structure changed • Got better technology • Worked through old files • Worked on documentation • Worked on PGP • Worked on new Template • There is still lots to do!

IANA Consultation .ly • Through Invitation • we conducted a consultation with the Local Internet Community • Preparation • Public Announcement • Free Visits • User, Cyber Cafes, ISPs, Telcos, Telecom Minister, Businesses, NGOs • Public Meeting • LIC decided to elect a committee • For the redelegation process • Seams to be able to use this as a template

IANA Workgroup • 1st Meeting in Stockholm (50/29) • Definition, first actions • Prepared for Montevideo • 2nd Meeting in Montevideo (75/35) • Some surprise some not. • No progress, many policy, errors on my side! • 3rd Meeting in Marina del Rey, Nov. 13th • Part one: for new comers • Part two: for manager they don’t know how to work with IANA • Part three: actual work items • How to get an item on the agenda? • Send a proposal to the mailing list cctld-wg@iana.org • The agenda for part three will be set through the list.

  10. New TLDs • G (gTLD) stands for either • (g)eneric, (g)lobal • Sponsored sTLDs (restricted) • .aero, .coop, .museum • Unsponsored uTLDs (unrestricted) • .biz, .info, .name, .pro

  11. New RIRs • LACNIC • In the same organization as nic.br • Region Latin America and Caribbean • Will start soon • Educated and now supported by ARIN • AFRINIC • Region Africa • Will take time • Supported by both ARIN and RIPE

At-Large Study Committee(ALSC) • The ALSC has spent the last six months studying At-Large issues and seeking input from all interested parties • We found there to be great value in ICANN's existing bottom-up approach and in the involvement of At-Large members • We have concluded that no system exists for incorporating an "At-Large" membership that would fully satisfy all interests

  14. Next ICANN Meeting • Next ICANN Meeting • Date: November 12th till 15th • City: Marina del Rey (L.A.) California (the last one there for long time) • ccTLD meetings starting November 10th. • Only three meetings 2002 • Date: March 2002, Accra, Ghana • Summer: Eastern Europe • Autumn: Asia
