GCE Testbed Goals (GGF5) • Advocate controlled chaos: • encourage production and use of a lot of web services • Wonderful if want to use same schema, but not required by GGF5 • Focus on some applications by GGF5 • Methodology for coordinating efforts: • Study Web services to understand how to make them interoperable. • examine at GGF5, synthesize • Host Schemas, WSDL, UDDI in one spot; versioning • UDDI registry plan – use WebSphere (whitepaper/M. Pierce) • XML schemas repository • Namespace: gce

GGF5 Action Items • Organizational: • UK co-chair – Rob Allan (Daresbury) • Jay Alameda (NCSA) GCE secretary • Revise charter • Host US workshop end of May • possible UK workshop (small January meeting) • Related Activities • GCE Metadata Working Group (Tomasz Haupt) • Web Services/OGSA; driven by testbed results • Parallel Tools Web Services (Susanne Balle) • COMPAQ debugger • CP&E spec. ed. on Grid Web Services: cfp end of summer, Dec. sub • TACC server systems will host computingportals.org and Testbed • SUN E220R’s, 7/24/360 support, parallel prod/dev • Successful Scotch BOF was held last night • Proposed charter for a Scotch Research Group
