Introduction ■Advantage of home-use radio system (home-link) using 60GHz band ・Frequency confusion less than 30GHz-band -Technical advance of millimeter-wave devices -Shift to higher frequency band ・Demand for multi-media communications -Need for broader frequency band ・Unique characteristics of millimeter-wave transmission -Line-of-sight propagation -Interference avoidance using antenna’s directivity -Attenuation by atmospheric oxygen (16dB/km@60GHz) Hiroyo Ogawa, CRL

Conclusions • A mmWave video transmission system, as one of attractive mmWave systems, has been presented • This mmWave system can be potentially applied not only for video transmission system but also for various wide-band communication systems • ARIB standard (standard of Association-of- Radio-Industries-and-Businesses of Japan) of this system will be presented at Vancouver meeting Hiroyo Ogawa, CRL
