  2. Introduction • Welcome to Lightningopolis, where you will be living on a mountain in the sky. Your god, Zeus is the god of the sky and lighting. The government is a oligarchy (rule by a few). In this slide show you will learn about Lightningopolis and find out about this city-state. • Thank You and enjoy the show!!!

  3. Why Zeus is important to Lightningopolis • Zeus is important to Lightningopolis because he is supreme ruler of the gods. He’s also known for punishing those that lie and break oaths. He’s lord of the sky and the rain god. His weapon is a thunderbolt which he hurls at those who displease him. He is represented as the god of justice and mercy, the protector of the weak, and the punisher of the wicked. Zeus is a great god.

  4. Living in Lightningopolis • Living in Lightningopolis can be hard, tough, and interesting. People will invade, especially if you are a farmer ,and take your food and supplies. People take care in worshiping Zeus. You have to go to the mountains a lot to worship Zeus. People have to take advantage of the good soil to farm good things. Women take serious responsibility taking care of future warriors.

  7. Mt. Olympus • Mt. Olympus is a mountain in Greece. Zeus is the supreme ruler of Mt. Olympus. Mt. Olympus is where the twelve gods and goddesses meet with Zeus. He is the supreme ruler of the 12 gods and goddesses. Mt. Olympus is a great meeting place for gods.

  8. Laws • Just a reminder, Lightningopolis is an oligarchy, which means rule by a few. Anyway, here are the laws. • 1.Children must go to school until they are 18. • 2. Women are citizens and men are allowed to vote. • 3.Men and women must pass a test about Zeus to become a citizen of Lightningopolis. • 4.The women give birth to warriors. • 5.If it’s storming, you must come outside and worship Zeus

  9. Consequenses • If you break a law, here are the Consequenses you will face. If you don’t follow rule number five, you will have to work more than usual for a month. If you do that a second time, you will have to be a slave for a year. If you do it a third time, Zeus will throw a lightning bolt at you and you will die.

  10. Closing As you can see, Lightningopolis is a great city-state when Zeus, the supreme ruler of the gods, is in power of Lightningopolis. We have enjoyed telling you about Lightningopolis.
