What is an IWT • The concept of the Integrated Warning Team originated as part of the “Weather and Society Integrated Studies” (WAS*IS) • The IWT Workshop brings the major partners together to identify common problems and work on mutually beneficial solutions. • An IWT Workshop can be used to better understand how the public we serve responds to our services. • Many are Statewide initiatives • Many are multi-day events • Many tackle a variety of topics

Emergency Management Agency (and associated Emergency Response Organizations) • Ensure the capabilities of the public and provide for the well-being, protection and preparedness of the citizens, their property and the local economy. • EMA • NWS • Media • NWS • Provide forecasts and warnings for the protection of life and property. • Media • Provide life saving information to the public in nearly continuous manner.
