Institute for Space Systems Analysis and Design • Large-scale center within the College of Engineering, possibly including non-COE resources • Aerospace and Ocean - space systems, dynamics and control, propulsion, structures • Civil and Environmental - structures, applications • Electrical and Computer - communications, computing, control, global positioning system, power • Engineering Science and Mechanics - structures, dynamics • Industrial and Systems - systems engineering, modeling and simulation • Mechanical - structures, mechanisms, dynamics and control • Offer B.S. and M.S. programs, possible Ph.D. • Focus on multi-disciplinary analysis and design of spacecraft • Potential customers: DoD, NASA, Industry, Foreign countries

  4. Graduate Program CurriculumTwo-year M.S. Program • Thesis option • 8 courses, 2 per semester, thesis committee includes members from 3 departments • Non-thesis option • 12 courses, 3 per semester, final exam administered by members from 3 departments • Affiliated departments offer at least one relevant course per semester • Some courses have introductory and advanced versions (e.g., Introduction to Satellite Communications for non-ECpE majors, and Satellite Communications for ECpE majors) • Students complete multidisciplinary team spacecraft design projects
