13 Thưa anh chị em, những người được Chúa yêu thương, chúng tôi phải luôn cảm tạ Ðức Chúa Trời về anh chị em, vì từ ban đầu Ðức Chúa Trời đã chọn anh chị em để hưởng ơn cứu rỗi bởi sự thánh hóacủa Ðức Thánh Linh và bởi đức tin vào chân lý. 14 Vì ơn cứu rỗi đó, Ngài đã dùng Tin Mừng của chúng tôi kêu gọi anh chị em, để anh chị em được hưởng vinh hiển của Ðức Chúa Jesus Christ, Chúa chúng ta. 15 Vì thế, thưa anh chị em, hãy đứng vững và hãy giữ chặt những lẽthậtmàchúng tôi đã dạy cho anh chị em, hoặc bằng lời nói hoặc bằng thư từ. 16 Nguyện xin chính Ðức Chúa Jesus Christ, Chúa chúng ta, và Ðức Chúa Trời, Cha chúng ta, Ðấng đã yêu thương chúng ta và ban cho chúng ta niềm an ủi vô cùng và niềm hy vọng tốt đẹp bởi ân sủng, 17 an ủi lòng anh chị em và làm cho anh chị em vững mạnh trong mọi việc làm và mọi lời nói tốt đẹp.

13 But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits[a] to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. 14 He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 15 So then, brothers and sisters, stand firm and hold fast to the teachings[b] we passed on to you, whether by word of mouth or by letter. 16 May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, 17 encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
