  17. 1984 - 2009 25 ans AIPCN-Belgique La salle de fête fait partie du palais historique où le Musée royal de l’Afrique Centrale se situe.  Le Musée a surgi de l’exposition universelle de 1897.  Pour tirer l’intérêt en Belgique pour l’état libre Congo, Léopold II organise une exposition-Congo dans le Palais des Colonies à Tervuren, tout ça dans le cadre de cet événement grandiose.  Le succès énorme mène à la fondation du premier Musée-Congo en 1898.  Dès le début, cette institution obtient une mission scientifique.  Par l’élargissement rapide des collections, un plus grand bâtiment est nécessaire.  En 1910, Albert I inaugure le musée actuel.  Il est qu’en 1960, après l’indépendance Congolaise, que le musée obtient son nom actuel.
