Public Confusion • Confused with Humane Farm • Had similar audit “tools” and standards at beginning • Adel Douglas was with American Humane and left to start and work for Humane Farm • Growing access in market place • UEP has completed agreements with both American Humane and HFAC • Dual certification

  4. On-Farm Audits • Currently more than 80 producers being audited • Majority are in layer industry • Audits need be scheduled within a two week notification • Combine with current UEP audits • Dual certification

  5. Selection Process • 1/3 of the total buildings on-site • Different than the UEP Standards • MUST meet UEP 50% rule for dual certification

Walk Through Process • For new entities to AHC • AHC will notify of sites for walk through • Visual inspections of non-selected sites • Verify feed, water, mortality, live birds, etc. • Verify that there are no major critical animal welfare issues viewed (facilities) • Validus will notify auditors of any selected sites for the walk through process

  7. Egg Traceability Audit • Ability for American Humane to track specific labeled eggs throughout the plant • Plant MUST have a plan and process in place • Eggs need to be identified • Placed in storage and labeled • Review Egg Traceability Tool

  8. Summary • Validus is the ONLY auditing firm that AHC is using for their audits • Understand walk though process if required • Understand the differences between American Humane and Certified Humane if asked
