  3. Figurative Language • Metaphor: When the speaker compares two unlike things that share something in common. • “I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death” • “My car is fresher than a peppermint”

  4. Figurative Language • Similes: When the speaker compares two things using the words “Like” or “As” • “Fur coat in the winter, look like a polar bear • “I’m in her head like Maybelline” • “I bless her as if she sneezed” • “Rubber band man, wild as the Taliban”

  5. Literary Devices • Hyperbole: When the speaker uses exaggeration to show emphasis or make a point. • “Walking on the clouds, suspended in thin air.Do ones beneath me recognize the red bottoms I wear” • “Lyrically I’m so lethal” • “Y’all spit saliva, I spit lava”
