  1. The need for Cyber Safety In a 2008 research commissioned by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) and conducted by Nanyang Technological University, it was found that although youths are very savvy with the usage of computers, their awareness of safe and responsible online practices is very low. The survey of over 1500 students showed that: a. 70% of students are on Social Network Sites; b. 70% of them did not know they could restrict applications from accessing their personal information; c. 50% accepted total strangers as friends; d. 25% were victims of cyber bullying more than once within that year e. 25% downloaded files from unknown people or websites f. 20% did not install computer protection programmes and had no idea what a firewall was.

  3. What is CybeRonia Cyberonia is a new free virtual world game where students can play, explore and learn the many facets of cyber wellness, cyber safety and cybersecurity on their own. It is educational yet fun and engaging. The students can learn at their own pace without any supervision, or if preferred, with minimal supervision from teachers and/or parents. The game can be played in school or at home, in intervals of maximum 2 hours a day, and up to a maximum of 10 totalgame play hours.

MOE Endorsed This game is endorsed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Singapore Police Force (SPF), and produced by multiple agencies with the insights, experience and resources to tackle the many issues of cyber wellness. These agencies include • Inforcomm Development Authority (IDA), • Media Development Authority (MDA), • Singapore Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SOGA), • Touch Community • Law Society.
